When many people ask how and where should I spend my marketing dollars. I believe to create a monopoly with your marketing. You should market a little in print ads and more on the search engines. Print ads should be done in specific local or niche areas depending on your product or service but the biggie is internet advertising. Online Advertising is a beautiful thing when done correctly. Since the search engines are being used by more and more people, using the correct terms and optimization methods can be very profitable.

So when putting money in your marketing ads you will want to track where your better ads are coming from. In print ads you should allow your prospects reading the ad to enter a code when they sign up at your web site for the product or service. If the works and is bringing in prospects you need to know which are ads they are.

Now for the search engines, this is simplified. In search engines discovering where your prospects are coming from can be done using analytics. This will literally track the time spent, navigation used and many other important details on how your web visitors go about your website. This is why I recommend more searh engine marketing rather than print ad marketing, mostly because I have seen the sales increase first hand and the huge oppurtunities that can come in the months to come. So to get you started, try optimizing your web sites. How does one go about soing this? A simple way is to enter into the paid directories, such as the Business Directory is a great site. You can also submit it to DMOZ and you may want to try local search directories such as True Local Search. Next if you have web design skills, a simple step you can do is change your title tags to keywords that will be highly used, no shorter keywords but actually more detailed keywords. This is because in online advertising, ranking a single word is just to expensive and not affordable for any company. Plus the one work might be to vague. So try these two simple steps and look for more to come soon.
