My Decision on Cafepress’ New Affiliate Program
As of right now, and having discussed how (if at all) Commission Junction has been working for some friends who have tried it in the last year, I have personally decided that I am not going to signup. At least not to start with.
The commission for affiliates is dropping from 20% to 15% unless you are selling uber $$$ per month as an affiliate. And since the majority of my money comes from selling my own products and not those of other people I can make more money by utilizing space that the affiliate program would take up in other ways.
Plus the scuttlebutt that I have received is that many people are still very wary of Commission Junction and not sure how accurately (and perhaps honestly) CJ is about reporting affiliate referrals and sales.
So for now Cafepress is losing an affiliate and I will deal with the small loss of dollars from that revenue stream with other opportunities.
