Contact information is by far the most important part of your press release and you need to make sure that you provide enough information so that a reader of the press release will be able to reach you. There are some news publications that will take your press release and write a news story without contacting you; however, most news sources who want to base a story off of your press releases will attempt to contact you before they write an article to get more information and their own quotes. If their request is not met in an appropriate time frame, they will go with another company. As a result, it is very important that you include a phone number and / or e-mail address that you check frequently so that writers and journalists will be able to contact you and get the information they need quickly. Dear Affiliate,
As you may know, for a short period of time Affiliate reporting was inaccessible (November 1-13.) Since then, we have been able to restore the access to all of your Affiliate reporting. However, we regret to inform you that from November 1-12, 2006 traffic data (uniques and visits) has been deemed unrecoverable. The source of the problem, a script in our database not functioning properly, prevented traffic from being recorded accurately. We have taken measures to create a safety step to ensure this specific issue does not occur again. Data from November 13 to present is currently being restored and will be available shortly. Please note that access to Affiliate Reporting may continue to be intermittently unavailable as we work to resolve this issue. We will keep you updated with more information as it comes. Revenue and commission data were not affected and is accurate. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Sincerely,

The CafePress Team

Cafepress’ interface for creating and managing stores works really well for basic shops and small and even medium sized premium stores. But what I have found over the years is that if you have more than a couple hundred items and a couple of premium shops the interface starts to really become a hindrance. (more…)

All things considered, word of mouth is still the most important means of marketing any product or service. Word of mouth is created by getting your product or service in the hands of people who will appreciate it and will talk to friends and associates about it.

The best way to get people talking is to give your product or service to key individuals – talk-show hosts, columnists, celebrities, and chat-line addicts – who are going to mention it to many people, who will mention it to even more people.

With the right product or service, the more you give away, the more you end up selling. I have now spent approximately $40,000 giving away over 12,000 copies of my books. There is no doubt in my mind that this has played a big part in helping me to sell hundreds of thousands of my books. (more…)
